This fall, The Leap is launching our first-ever virtual book club series, discussing big ideas from Naomi Klein’s new book, On Fire: The Burning Case for a Green New Deal. Leading up to a live Q&A with Naomi, we’ll be diving deep into topics like wealth redistribution and reparations; tapping into the power of strikes to win a Green New Deal; how climate justice organizers can and must grapple with rising eco-fascism; and more. Our line-up of speakers — including brilliant writers, organizers, and journalists — spans movements and geographies.

Queens United Independent Progressives and Council Member Costa Constantinides will be Sponsoring a Climate Crisis Town Hall with special guest speakers:
Andres Bernal, Lecturer, CUNY Queens College. Mr. Bernal will be speaking on the Green New Deal.
Jun Wong, Sunrise Movement. Mr. Wong will be speaking on the Youth Response to combating the Climate Crisis.
Ilona Duverge, Movement School/Reclaim NYCHA. Ms. Duverge will be speaking on envisioning a Green New Deal for NYCHA.
Council Member Costa Constantinides will be speaking on the city council's response to combating the Climate Crisis.

Panel featuring a coalition of thinkers from Colombia, Mexico, and the United States dicussing the prospects of urban and public policies in the Americas to combar the climate emergency. Speakers include Andres Bernal, Jesus Resendiz, and Gerardo Ardila
The trip will also consist of meetings with promiment progressive Colombian political leaders and strategy building. Culminated in the formation of the group: Progressive Agenda for the Americas

Join the Sierra Club and Sunrise Movement for a talk with Andrés Bernal, personal advisor to Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and economics expert behind the Green New Deal. Kansas City Sierra Club leader Kevin Grooms will ask Andrés about our region's role in reversing the climate crisis. How do we fix our economy to work for our community and our environment? How would the Green New Deal actually work?
A 1-day workshop at Harvard Law School, exploring the budgetary and macroeconomic aspects of the Green New Deal from a Modern Monetary Theory ("MMT") perspective.
