Andres in Theory is a reflective space for rethinking society, democracy, and leadership during our complex times. I write about politics, culture, and development to connect systems to lived experience and help readers make sense of their place in the world.

This is a newsletter for organizers, leaders, students, and anyone with an inquisitive mind. My commitment is to offer depth, perspective, and clarity when it matters most.

Eco-Leadership is a groundbreaking approach that aligns leadership practice with ecosystem principles, creating organizations that are more engaged, purposeful, and adaptive in the face of urgent challenges.

Our proven theory and practice have been tested internationally in diverse sectors, offering a new way to develop organizations that go beyond profit and growth.

The Eco-Leadership Institute was founded in 2021 by Dr. Simon Western to cultivate a think tank and development hub that drives Eco-Leadership development and system change through a network of professionals, courses, coaching and consulting services and more

The Astoria Worker Project is an initiative from the Consortium for Worker Education (CWE) to create a worker center offering a range of social services to the residents of Astoria and Western Queens, New York.

The Astoria Worker Project will meld CWE’s proven workforce development programming with forward-thinking services that are responsive to New York City’s evolving economy.

The center offers workforce development resources that enhance workers’ rights, address mental health needs, support the creation of worker co-operatives, and provide programming to benefit Astoria’s immigrant communities.

We believe in applying the latest best practices in research, advocacy and capacity building dedicated to social transformation.

Together, we coordinate Public Money Action’s efforts through various action committees and consultations.

Working Together

This work is for leaders, teams, and mission-driven organizations navigating adaptive challenges and big-picture decision-making, including creatives and cultural workers shaping sense-making beyond formal institutions.

The focus is on reflective insight and system-wide learning to support development at personal and organizational levels.

The methods draw from the cutting edge of strategy, capacity building, and the study of organizational dynamics, informed by years of experience across scholarship, group relations training, and social entrepreneurship.
